Our Cybersecurity Escape Room

Our Cybersecurity Escape Room is a custom-designed experience for primary and secondary school students, modelled on industry tabletop exercises. Participants solve cyber security related challenges based on real-world scenarios, in order to open locked-boxes and stop a cyber-attack from being targeted at their company. The group is divided into six teams that represent company departments; Finance, Legal, the CEO, Public Relations, Human Relations, and Information Technology. Each team needs to solve a cyber security challenge that is related to that functional area, and they are given a brief description of the importance of that area to cyber security. The teams must solve two challenges each, the first to open a locked box, and the second challenge to open their team padlock on a group lock box. The team need to work as a group to solve all the challenges and open the lockbox within the designated timeframe. This is followed by a tabletop exercise, where participants are required to develop cyber resilience and post attack plans for their company. The importance of communication and collaboration are highlighted throughout this interactive and engaging exercise.
