HEAnet's New and Improved DNS Services for Clients

HEAnet has provided DNS services for clients for over 2 decades. The Systems Team are in the process of refreshing and improving these services not only to maintain them but to add new user friendly and security features.

Our legacy services are:

• Authoritative DNS - How people find your domains

• Recursive DNS - How your users find any domain 

  The changes being rolled out 2025 include

• Authoritative DNS

 - Refresh of underlying infrastructure

 - Introduction of a self-service portal for clients

• Recursive DNS 

 - Refresh of underlying infrastructure

 - New Secure service which blocks and filters malicious DNS records.

This presentation will give an overview of the new services available to clients and information on their architecture.
